eschatology of creation, cosmic aspect of longing

1988 I am a single parent, young mother's gone, my one year daughter needs constant care all days and nights.
Quite a new work phase, oil colours applied directly from tubes onto canvas, minimal brushwork. Painting as a life saviour, but not for very much longer; there were the times of poverty, soon not a single piece of canvas free.
Started to paint on papers. The smallest sizes in my life.

O yes, all those years I had a GDR watchtower facing my windows,
these were the first ones in the West (Berlin).

And, between realms, there were "Shots on the border", on the painting above.
Five bullets hit the canvas but image and painter live forever.

Years later I glue the papers onto 3 mm thick cardboard and varnish,
choosing works for presentation here.

The shapes arising out of the chaos make intriguing compositions,
form landscapes of an abstract and volcanic nature,
places of intense power and serene peace.

Isn't it a paradox ? the smallest sizes are my most colourful paintings !
