| Early 1975 I drove my VW-bus to Amsterdam, having with me series Print-paintings. See how they differ from monotypes? Clear colour appear, a transparency I loved so much, along with some technological discoveries. On every composition I was using new set of colours, intensive studies trough constant doing. I went through galleries and felt special; the Dutchmen appreciate a good handcraft, you know, a looking glass appear in the hand and question on lips: - How did you make it? |

| Well, how did I make it? After creating many thousands of Monotypes, my own graphic technique emerged. I called it Print-Painting. Wonderful factory was traveling with me. Three special rollers created on my order, soft, heavy, huge. Frames to protect the white margin, handles. I cut my figures and forms out of paper, plastic sheet, threads, creating a relief matrix glued on paper, 'drawing' on it with knife, and 'painting' with glue. Next phase - a sheet of white paper on the top of my 'composition', frame and handles keeping it all together, and I was rolling my roller, wet with colours, over the paper. An additional colour was added to the painting after drying a day, many days. Very thin layers created depth and contrast. Fluorescent graphic paints, print or copper print colours, mixed with varnish for a transparency effect. Nobody had seen anything like it before. I created 2 to 8 copies of each composition. |
