Large paintings use to have stretches strengthened by a wooden cross behind a canvas. Polish Fullness above burnt through the canvas. There was a state of war in Poland.

Early springtime 1983 I had job of some boring sort but in three weeks earned enough money to buy me fourteen large size stretches. Took four weeks then to stretch canvasses on and paint them with primer, using sandpaper to polish dry surface before next layer of primer, several times.

Wow, nice view, white canvasses hanging on the walls: much light for a coming summer - tomorrow!

I thought I had enough material for painting, well, to the end of the year. No mercy upon me! in two summer weeks painted all the fourteen. In July came back that damned intense hunger for oil colours, canvas, stretches.

	Miracles happen. Let your fate dance with a chance and see yourself. Surprise: I was painting something that didn't like to become visible, after four weeks gave up and covered my unborn baby with what was there on the palette: deep blue. Oh well, I thought, in ten days canvas dries, I paint something on the top. Wanted to hang it on the wall, but picture was falling down and there it was! a sharp scar in blue, some pink and light blue from previous work shining through. Quick action: placed it back on the easel, filled the scar with colour, with dry brush made symmetrical second scar, extended down, painted a bit. In half an hour the job was done. Born to fly was born as you see on the left. Next decade painted ten variations of the theme. Full abstraction, open beauty of the meaning.

That is another lovely motif, painted four times with a feeling I could paint it lifelong, just trying all the monochromatic colours, then using every possible pair of colours, like a Blue-green on the right. I like abstract work, there is no meaning - there is much space for joy.
